Decentralized Coordination of Automated Guided Vehicles (Short Paper)

چکیده
This paper approaches the issue of coordination of highly autonomous Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) working on an automated factory. These vehicles are used for goods delivery tasks between di erent points of the production system. The coordination is based on a decentralized architecture where each vehicle broadcasts the information about its state in the working environment, and by combining all these states in a local way, each AGV decides which action to take. The heuristic that allows the decentralized tra c control is based on a priority system, based on the current task, and a set of dangerous zones which are de ned to avoid possible deadlocks, where mutual exclusion should be ensured. The process is somehow similar to that used by humans when circulating in cars: a set of rules and a set of signals/places. The interaction of many vehicles working on the same area under di erent collision conditions has been tested in a real industrial warehouse environment.

Scheduling of Multiple Autonomous Guided Vehicles for an Assembly Line Using Minimum Cost Network Flow
This paper proposed a parallel automated assembly line system to produce multiple products having multiple autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs). Several assembly lines are configured to produce multiple products in which the technologies of machines are shared among the assembly lines when required. The transportation between the stations in an assembly line (intra assembly line) and among station...

This demonstration aims to show the decentralized coordination of the navigation system of highly autonomous Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) integrated in a real industrial environment. These vehicles are used for goods delivery tasks between different points of the production system. The navigation part consists on calculating and following the trajectory to reach the goal, which is calculate...
متن کاملOptimizing the Static and Dynamic Scheduling problem of Automated Guided Vehicles in Container Terminals
The Minimum Cost Flow (MCF) problem is a well-known problem in the area of network optimisation. To tackle this problem, Network Simplex Algorithm (NSA) is the fastest solution method. NSA has three extensions, namely Network Simplex plus Algorithm (NSA+), Dynamic Network Simplex Algorithm (DNSA) and Dynamic Network Simplex plus Algorithm (DNSA+). The objectives of the research reported in this...

1 One of the challenging problems with autonomous vehicles is their performance at intersections. This 2 paper shows an alternative control method for the coordination of autonomous vehicles at 3 intersections. The proposed approach is grounded in multi-robot coordination and it also takes into 4 account vehicle dynamics as well as realistic communication constraints. The existing concept of 5 ...
متن کاملTask Coordination of Automated Guided Vehicles in a Container Terminal
This paper introduces a new generation of Automated Guided Vehicles, called IPSI® AGVs, which are evaluated in the operations of a Container Terminal. The objective is to identify number of automated guided vehicles and cassettes required in order to that a number of cranes will not be idle during ship loading and unloading operations. A protocol called Contract Net is evaluated in the coordina...
